When Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper, stood up in the House of Commons, to renounce the israeli National Security Minister, itamar ben-gvir, for his treatment of the brave souls aboard the most recent Gaza Flotilla, she left an awful lot for the more discerning viewer/listener to disassemble. So very much did she leave! When I became aware that Cooper had made the aforementioned statement, upon an israeli minister already being sanctioned for inciting colonial-settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, it came to me, first I think, via Clive Myrie's BBC. And so it begins! In truth it had already begun, and a long time since, a significant while back. Way back, now, beyond living memory. The same general voices, clamouring after the same sort of 'lobby' interests. Notable, sideline players may have dropped out along the way, perhaps looking to shore up their retreat- damage done, now retire. Have you seen all those amazing shades of brown cars upon the UK's roads? There's deep golden tones, metallics reminiscent of sunsets one might have experienced whilst on romantic holidays, radiant variations that artists such as Andy Goldsworthy might have employed upon some of his 'living' artworks. I can well recall when a brown car would have been regarded as, quite possibly, the worst of all worlds... in terms of colour choice, that is. No longer is that the case. Now, within the industry that is constantly having to rebrand itself, the options, for those who can afford it, might be made from a veritable explosion of, mostly, metallic shades of brown.
